What to Remember When Getting Inked the First Time

Getting a tattoo for some may be a decision made on a drunken night out with friends. But for some, that may not be the case. It may be something that means a little bit more and is even something that may stand testament to what they believe and their perspective on life.

Besides it being art, looking good and being able to show it off whenever and wherever you want, getting a tattoo, like every other commitment comes with a slight tinge of fear and worry attached to it. The fear of the unknown I would say. However, let me tell you that the fear to get over the second thoughts and the pain that you suppose would come with the process is by far, the hardest thing that you will need to deal with.

Here are a few things about getting inked you will need to keep in mind and pay attention to if it is your first time!

Take Your Time to Decide on Your Design

The first thing that you need to do is take your time deciding on a design. If you do not have a design in mind and are looking to your artist for some inspiration, do not jump at the first design you see…look through and select something that resonates with who you are as a person. But get these guys to do your tatt and you won’t be disappointed.

If you do have a concept in mind but you aren’t sure how to translate that into art to have on your body, speak to your tattoo artist and he will be able to draw or come up with something that truly depicts and reflects the concept you want to have.

The next thing that you will need to take into consideration is the placement of the tattoo on your body. If you are a private person and the tattoo is something personal to you, you may want to choose a place that is not often seen, however if your tattoo is a bold declaration, you will not need to hesitate too much on deciding where it would look the best.

Since it is most probably your first time it will also be a good idea to have a look at the tattoo pain chart to prepare yourself and make a more informed decision about where exactly you will want to have it. It is always a good idea to have your first tattoo in a place that doesn’t make your experience too hard to handle.

Choose the Right Tattoo Parlour

And finally, and yet, most importantly, spend a fair amount of time choosing the right tattoo parlour. Go on social media, scroll through the tattoos that the artists have completed; and if anything strikes you, you may want to go and meet them first.

Ensure that the parlour is kept clean and schedule your appointment if you are satisfied. Do not hesitate to visit a number of tattoo parlours before you make your decision. After all, this is going to be something you carry with you forever and you will need to make sure you make the right choice.
